Brunch in Portsmouth, served slowly in Southsea
An independent brunch destination on Elm Grove — shakshuka, brunch bowls, artisan toasts and proper coffee, every day until 3:30pm.
Portsmouth’s brunch scene has grown up. Sand Cafe sits right in the middle of it — a small, independent cafe on Elm Grove in Southsea, built around speciality coffee and a brunch menu that takes itself just seriously enough.
We lean into Mediterranean flavours and British seasonality: slow-simmered shakshuka, whipped feta on hot sourdough, brunch bowls with avocado, halloumi and dukkah, pistachio French toast when we can get the brioche right. Pair it with a flat white from our house blend, or an iced matcha if it’s that kind of morning.
Whether you’re after weekend brunch in Portsmouth with friends, a quiet weekday plate before work, or a long catch-up that ends in cake — we’re open every day until 6pm, with last food orders at 3:30pm.
